Our last Meeting

Here are a couple of photos of the triptych technique we tried out at our last meeting! The first one is with the doors closed and the second with them open. you can click on the photos to get a larger view. We had a ton of fun--everybody did one that was slightly different and they all turned out beautifully! Looking forward to seeing everyone next month.

Our Meeting

Last meeting we worked on easy acrylic transfers. Here is one of the tags made using this process. Working with a photo copy of an image, you coat the receiving surface with gel medium and lay the photo copy face down. After a few minutes, peel the photo copy off, and gently rub the remaining paper off. This process also works with pages out of books.

Hope to see all of you at the next meeting later this month!

Meeting Time!

It’s that time again!
We will be meeting this Saturday at 3pm. The topic of discussion this week will be easy acrylic transfers.
What you will need:
photocopies of images or images from books.
Gel Medium
Surface to copy to.
Hopefully, enough people will be able to bring gel medium so that we can share with anyone who is without.

Please feel free to bring any new examples of your work to share as well!
Since I was unable to get a free library room for this month, I will be holding the meeting at my house. Please feel free to email me for directions!
I look forward to seeing all of you!

Our First Meeting

Here are some pictures from our first meeting! Unfortunately some of our members couldn't make it, but we still had a ton of fun looking at each other's books and discussing our future plans! It looks like we're going to learn about easy acrylic transfers next month, a December party and even taking a trip to Michigan to have a joint meeting with the our Michigan counterparts. We're going to have a lot of fun together! So if you haven't yet, please join us!!!

New Artwork

Here are some new creations by our long-distance member Linda (who participates all the way from Baltimore, Maryland!)
The paper she used in this spread is from Indianapolis's own Dolphin Paper which she visited when she was here a few weeks ago.
Here is what she has to say about her creations: "Here are the two journal pages I did after our visit to Dolphin.
The first one uses lots of the scraps I bought and an image from one
of the little Dover books (asian art stickers). The second one
features an ATC (I glued it's plastic sleeve onto the
page so I can take the ATC out to admire and read:)

As you can see, I used the same color scheme for both pages -- they
are on facing pages in my journal."

Sticky Tape Page

I made this page using the "sticky tape" transfer method. I layered collage items, and then applied them to my book, which had been primed with gesso and metalic purple and green paints! The inspiration for this peice came from Inspire me Thursday's weekly challenge.
