Monoprinting
We had so much fun this week, learning to do monoprinting. Many thanks to Ariane!!!
Here are the step by step instructions for monoprinting:
1. Cut open a sheet protector on two sides so it opens like a book.
2. Using re-inkers or acrylic paint put dabs of color onto the inside of the sheet protector.
3. close and brayer. Be careful, if you use too much paint/ink it will spill out of the sides. It's a good idea to cover your work surface.
4. When you like the look of the colors, open it back-up and stick a piece of paper in the middle. Close and re-brayer.
5. Open-up and viola! You have a gorgeous piece that is identical on both sides.

meeting time!
We are meeting this saturday at 1pm, to do easy acrylic techniques.
Here is the supply list:
2 or 3 colors of acrylic paint. (I often use inexpensive paints from Michael's. The small bottles, that run about .60-.90 a piece.)
1 or two paintbrushes. Here again, I buy the least expensive. A good place to look is in the "student" supplies aisle or in the crafts aisle.
Your book, or several sheets of blank heavy weight paper, to practice on.
A throw away plastic cup for rinsing and washing.
A few paper towels.
A heat gun (if you have it. This is not necessary, but will help with drying time.)
Please feel free to click the "contact" button for location and directions!

Our Last Meeting
We had a ton of fun at our last meeting where Beverly kindly taught us all how to make spirellas! Here are some photos of the meeting.
Here we are cutting out and designing our spirellas. You can see some of the examples that Beverly brought next to her arm on the table.
And here are some photos of our finished products.
A BIG thank you to Beverly for teaching us this amazing technique.
We will see you all next month!

Here are a couple of photos of the triptych technique we tried out at our last meeting! The first one is with the doors closed and the second with them open. you can click on the photos to get a larger view. We had a ton of fun--everybody did one that was slightly different and they all turned out beautifully! Looking forward to seeing everyone next month.
